Such contests are very important, first of all, for tourism and infrastructure development and improving the quality of tourist services in Buryatia. The Government of the Republic of Buryatia has approved the republican special-purpose programme ‘The development of domestic and inbound tourism in Buryatia in 2011-2016’. According to this document, the contest for ‘The best tourist accommodation centre’ is to be held annually.
